Adjusting the aq-strength will help too. Tune animation defaults to 0.6, but try having like 0.8 and keep increasing until they disappear. If you start talking 1.5, you might just want to lower the crf instead, though.

If adjusting the aq-strength doesn't help, you can always tweak specific segments of your video with zones, from the Command Line dialogue:
Something like this will make frames 2899-2963 get encoded with a lower quantizer of 17, and 3678-4180 get encoded with an even lower quantizer of 16, or whatever you want. You can add more zones too, as long as you separate them with a slash. Of course, if there are a lot of zones, this method would get annoying.
Also double check that it's not the original file. In that case you would need to use avisynth.
Code: Select all
--zones 2899,2963,q=17/3678,4180,q=16
Also double check that it's not the original file. In that case you would need to use avisynth.

You just unpack the zip and doubleclick on the Zarx264gui.exe to run it. There is nothing to install.

Btw, at AMVapp 3.1 . Installed it, but then couldn't find the .exe.
But will try through Zarxrax website.

The amvapp installer does install the gui, though it installs version 1.16. The direct link for the gui with the updated 1.33 version also contains the exe in it, you just have to extract it to the folder that the gui installed to originally.
At least that's how it works on XP, though I doubt it would work any different in vista or win7.

Ok, it looks like the zarx264gui installer that is included in the amvapp is SERIOUSLY screwed up.
If you have installed it, just run the uninstaller, and it will fix everything back up as good as new.
I will just put the zip in the amvapp.
