Story? Forget that, the video is a tribute to the coolness of the Matrix. And coolness it is.
By and far, the smoothest-edited, most aesthetically pleasing (IMHO) vid of the bunch. Just as the guitar playing is light, fast and effortless - the editing matches it in every possible way, without using any super-duper effects and flying boxes.
x2

Just a quick word and this by no means my only vote, but I was quite impressed by this video. As you said, it matches the guitar quite well without being overpowering with effects or anything. He uses the great visuals and lets them do their thing.

Given I am a tad bit biased since I *love* this song and have for many years. I'm so glad someone made such a good video to it.

Check it out!

Wow! I just love all of this year's instrumental nominees.

Here are my picks:
Jasper-Isis - Absolution
norskotaku - Illuminations I: Reflections of a Goddess
Otohiko - The Wasteland
pen-pen2002 - Requiem for a Nightmare
theocide - I Love The Matrix
Veldrin: I agree. Man this wedding was like having sex with theocide. Fast and makes you cry.

I have to say that, were I not in the finals, I would actually be pretty disappointed. The vast majority of my favorites didn't make it, and, in my mind, I feel that two of the finalists are totally out of place in the category. :|
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Damn. Only one of my picks made it to finals.
*smacks forehead*
Why is my opinion never the popular one?

I'm surpriesed reflections of a goddess didn;t make it into the finals....

And even more surprised Angel's Redemption did....

My vote is gonna be a hard one in this category... I like all of them >.<
Although I feel Evabeepop and Surfing on the blocks should have realy been kept in Parody or comedy/ Best techncial respectively, and instrumental saved for more story/concept driven vids that use the mood of the instrumentals to the benefit of the vid in both editing and story, rather than just the fact that it uses instrumental audio. Hence my vote will probably be between the other 2.

Otohiko's "The Wasteland" gets my vote, especially since it's nominated in this category only and deserves an Award.

I agree. It was an awesome video, but I just didn't like it. I really wanted Reflections of a Goddess to win...

as many has pointed out already, its probably its length that hurt it the most.

As much as I liked it aswell....
