Tracy Chapman's "Fast Car" has always been a favorite of mine. I managed to find this really good cover of the song by Kristian Leontiou and I immediately wanted to make a video to it. First thing to come to mind was Ah! My Goddess. Unfortunately I never did anything.
Fast forward a few years and I had some extra time. I finished "You Stole My Heart" which was another video I had in my head for a long time. So I was in the mood to edit some of my older ideas, I also had my sources ripped :P
This was going to be my Otakon 2009 (well, my Macross video would've been but the coordinator wouldn't allow it for it's length :|) entry but unfortunately, near the end of the editing, the hard drive died. I managed to get a copy of the project file but I felt very discourage about it and didn't start editing again.
Anyway, it's done now. I like it. It's very much my style so if you like that, cool, if not, oh well.
So, the idea behind this video, or at least my initial thoughts are that there have only been a few times in my life where I felt like I could do more, I could "be someone". Figure that out yourself. With the video, I wanted to express this deeper connection between the two characters. It doesn't matter what life throws at them as long as they are together, everything will be fine and they will move forward.
