Comments:
It's that time again. I was asked again to do the intro for the NDK Amv Contest for 2010. I was told the theme would be "Steampunk" but I ultimately decided to ditch the theme because it wasn't broad enough. There's not a whole lot of sources with a steampunk theme to it. While I was still mulling around the idea of steampunk I ended up rendering some steam effects in XSI (3D program) which I later used in the final video as a transition between the NDK title and the first anime shot.
I came up with my final idea while listening to tracks for a future project and thought that I could stitch together an instrumental track using the extended version of E Nomine's "Schwarze Sonne". Before any major editing occurred, I went on vacation to Chicago and ended up mixing the initial version of the audio using Audacity on my Netbook. After being pretty satisfied with it, it wasn't 'til I got home and started editing that I realized the track needed to be edited some more. So I finish my audio editing in premiere and then started the real editing.
Editing was pretty quick. I completed the majority of the track relatively quickly but didn't have the titles figure out and the Comedy section was empty. I ended up soliciting Ileia for help for Comedy in which she produced the segment. The titles came shortly after while looking for inspiration from other works. Did all the work in AE and compiled it in Premiere for the final encode. After I received the list of finalist, the video was finished and sent to ScottAnime for approval.
Special Thanks to those that helped me:
