  • Comments: So, this is my take on an Inception trailer. Since I saw the original trailer, I really wanted to make something with it. I've always enjoyed making trailers but to me, you can't just take the audio and throw scenes on top of it. You have to do some more work then that. At least I do.

My original idea for this video was to modify the audio to fit the Cowboy Bebop setting rather then the movies. I wanted to do this by removing Ellen Page's voice and replace it with someone else more fitting to Faye. I think wanted to change the line Michael Caine says, "Mr. Cobb has a job offer he would like to discuss with you" to say "Spike (or Mr. Speigle, or just simlply We) has a job offer he (or we) would like to discuss with you. I ended up not being able to do it except change the part "job off he would" to "job off we would". Even though I wasn't able to do the audio exactly the way I wanted, I still left in that one piece because I think it worked out well and will show that I can do some audio editing.

Thats not the only audio stuff I did. I removed all of Ellen Page's lines from the trailer and I also removed some audio elements such as the cocking of the gun after Cobb inserts a magazine. I also removed the audio from the falling buildings/rocks from the end of the trailer. I basically removed everything I couldn't work with. In the end, i'm pretty happy with what I did, I just wish I could've done more.

Other then the audio, did some 3D work for this. In the beginning I knew I would have to do something. I ended up just doing a simple concept. I'm not 100% about it but I think it works fine. If I had more will power to do it correctly, I would.... unfortunately I just don't.

About the content of the trailer itself... I tried to match the scenes from the original trailer with shots from the anime. When I couldn't do that, I improvised. I didn't want to say such and such character is so and so. I hate that. As long as the voices match to the char thats currently talking on screen thats all that matters. So I also took some creative liberties and added a new character/story to the trailer. I used the villain from the movie to be the main antagonist of the fake movie. I think it works well.

I'm pretty happy with what I have, I just hope others will enjoy it as well.

Special thanks to my beta tester Ehllen and everyone else that helped me.
