  My favorite AMV of all time is probably Kevin Caldwell's "Believe". It got me to watch Battle Athletes many years ago, and that has been one of my favorite anime ever since. When I heard that there was a new Battle Athletes series launching this year, I was super hyped! Even before it was released, I was anticipating making an AMV with it. The new Space Jam movie was also out around the same time, so it's easy to see how I arrived at the combination. After all, both Space Jam and Battle Athletes are about saving the earth from evil aliens by playing sports.
  
  When Battle Athletes ReSTART finally released, to say I was disappointed would be an understatement. It was a horrible follow up to the original, and moreover, the show's animation didn't even look very good, and there wasn't much footage that would even work well for an AMV. So, I ultimately decided to just work with the original tv series and ova instead.
  
  I decided to bring the video in and out with an homage to Kevin Caldwell's classic video, but outside of that, I mostly just wanted to have fun with lyric sync. Towards the end, I do set up a bit of story, but this was primarily just to draw some parallels between Battle Athletes and Space Jam. Most Battle Athletes AMVs finish up by showing the main character victorious at the end of a race. I didn't want my video to feel the same as all the others, so I decided to end it in a more open-ended way.
  
  
  Software used is DaVinci Resolve 17 free, Gimp, and Inkscape.
