  • Comments: ***I've noticed a few comments made about the "jumpiness" of the video when they are in the jeep traveling, and I wanted to say that is how the anime is in those scenes. It is NOT the quality of the video causing those frames to be jerky. It is the way they animate those traveling scenes***

I now return you to your regularly scheduled comments:

The first time I heard this song and read the lyrics it reminded me of Saiyuki and the journey itself. Despite all the fighting on their way to the west, I realized that it was pretty much one long road trip for the four of them. And as much as Sanzo would hate to admit it, it has brought them closer together along the way.

This video is probably the most involved video I have done to date. I orignally had the sub-titles glowing as each word was sung, (you can still see some spot where I decided to keep them that way for effect) but after I finished it and looked it over I realized it would be better to just have the subs still. So I redid the entire song that way. Also, there were only a few spots where the lip sync was intentional, like the part when Sanzo says "there's nothing left to say". There looks like more, but that's just the way the footage played out.

Another thing of note is the opening graphic. The tire tracks in the dirt are the standard opening graphic for the Saiyuki series, so I wanted to re-create that look to show the title of my video. If only I could have gotten Greg Ayres who does the voice of Goku to actually say "Heading for the Sun, the Ultimate Road Trip" as he does for each episode, the effect would have been complete! LOL!

There are a few glitches here and there from Premiere, because I had to fight with this one to get it exported for some reason (the issues seem to come to a head at the part where Sanzo was smiling - go figure!) and I got most of them corrected. The one's I couldn't correct (and I did go frame by frame to make sure there weren't any extra cips, mind you), I couldn't for the life of me figure out what was going on so I blame Premiere.

I have future plans to remove the subtitles from it and export it as a "non-karaoke version". Perhaps with that version I can figure out what the heck was causing the few issues I had.

Hope you enjoy this one. ^.^
