Comments:
A video I made for an Iron Chef. I was given 4 days but I ended up rushing the thing in the last 5 hours before the deadline, so in the end it didn't turn out as well as it could.
I'm still somewhat satisfied with it, I've done worse videos for sure and, for once, I can at least say I was able to get a theme going on in this video.
Like the title suggests, it's a video centered around water , mostly rain and bubbles and stuff like that, but a few bits are just about water in general.
Quality is inconsistent through the video, as some of the footage was of a lower resolution to begin with ─ the 4:3 footage I used had to be upscaled a bit to fit in, and that's what I am referring to. I decided to use a cinemascope aspect ratio due to the effect that the wider AR gives with the scenery, I think the idea was the right one, and it should be noticeable in some bits, for example for the artworks I used towards the end of the video.
Anyway, some parts of the video didn't turn out that well, but I think it's a mostly enjoyable video on the whole, so I hope you'll like it, if only a bit. :)
Also, credit goes where credit is due:
The Polar PV is a Live Action PV done by Pierre Michel. More info about it here.
The original drawings used in this AMV were drawn by 阿桜. You can find them on his pixiv profile. Specifically, I used (in order of appearance in the video): 白秋の郷, STASIS, 小さな旅の途中, and 音と色の欠けた世界.
Special thanks go to: Cusy, mc_god, and NeoX. These dudes helped me gathering footage that could be of help during the last few hours of editing rush.
UPDATE: This video was a finalist for the Best Use of Instrumental Music category in the Viewers Choice Awards 2012. Thank you to everybody who voted for it! :)
