I'm not sure if the other DQ'ed videos post is for DQ'ed creators only or not, so I'm posting this here. Here's my list of videos I'm was hoping to nominate for VCA's, but didn't see on the list of qualified videos:
Cowboy Bebop 007
Die Another Day
Who Let the 'Fros Out
Urban Ragnarok
Joe Klemm

Which IMO is pretty stupid, these are the same people that take sick day's off work to make amv's for otakon..
Why enter either?
They're both popularity contests either way you look at it,
Espicially otakon, awa, jacon, etc.
When someone win's that, everyone knows they won anyway.
And it's the same judges.
Unless you're "hardcore Elitist" and think that the visualy insignifient audience that might be made out of people who don't know how to make a video but nevertheless, still watch them, and as much as you might hate it, they KNOW a good video (Euphoria IS ontop... it's STILL a good video, weather or not there are a few people taking it too far doesnt matter, it's STILL a good video).
But hey... that's just my opinion.

And by the way,
If I insulted anyone, I humbly apologize.
And I am aware some just stay away from contests completely.
Me and my qwirky rants =]

I didn't want to participate in the VCAs because, well, I just didn't want to.Voices_Of_Ryan wrote:AbsoluteDestiny wrote:Some people (although in a minority) chose to not participate in the VCAs, btw.

I'm sure somebody is going to deconstruct that sentence into something that it was never intended to be. Ah, the wonders of postmodernism.

Re: 3
To me, Internet contests are worthless and meaningless. Contests, in general, don't mean much, but at least a contest in person allows the chance to see how an audience responds to a piece of work.Voices_Of_Ryan wrote:Which IMO is pretty stupid, these are the same people that take sick day's off work to make amv's for otakon..
More importantly, however, I allowed myself to be disqualified because I am dissatisfied with the administration of the VCAs.
"If someone feels the need to 'express' himself or herself with a huge graphical 'singature' that has nothing to do with anything, that person should reevaluate his or her reasons for needing said form of expression, possibly with the help of a licensed mental health practitioner."

I thought the AWA winners were decided by a panel of judges and not by the audience...Voices_Of_Ryan wrote:Why enter either?

Note to self: must find more of that kind of contest.

Anyway, I wasn't trying to offend anyone... just being curious.
